Zinnias question?

when they bloom and i cut them for a flower vase....... how far down should i cut.....





and when i cut....will they grow back bushier or still high and tall....

Depends on how long you want them for the vase. For a smaller vase just cut them a bit shorter, for a longer vase, cut them as long as you want.


If you take off all the leaves except for the couple up nearest to the flower they will last a bit longer and stop the water going bad.





Once you have taken the first crop of longer stemmed flowers from a zinnia plant, others will grow from the side shoots of the plant, and may be a little shorter stemmed. Plant will be a bit more bushy.
Reply:Zinnias should be pruned from the bottom of the stem that the flower is on. It will make the plant more bushy as you harvest the flowers. Make sure never to water your zinnias on their leaves. This causes a disease on the leaves. Just water their lil feet.
