Are zinnias good to grow in the midwest?

Zinnia's grow fine in the midwest. They don't mind the heat in the summer, will grow in full sunlight. Just make sure they get enough water. Mix the regular size ones and the miniture ones together, they make a really nice looking little garden space and come in a wide variety of colors. Zinnia's will re-seed themselves also, so you don't have to plant them again the next yr.

Are zinnias good to grow in the midwest?
yes they are, after the soil warms just prepare the bed and sow seeds, thin after they are a couple of inches tall
Reply:yes but not the extreme north
Reply:Zinnias are great to grow in the midwest. In fact, ANY plant can be grown anywhere, it just requires lifting in the winter months. Some plants can only tolerate milder cimates, like sping/summer/ fall in the midwest. Plant anything but lift as needed. Most importantly, enjoy your blooms!!!!
Reply:I wouldn't know as I usually kill all plants that I try to grow
